The roadstop at Km 381 is the only such stop on the Billy-Diamond Highway, which is more than 620 kilometres long. The facility is a strategic rest area for tourists and workers, the closest communities being Matagami, 381 km to the south, and Radisson, 239 km to the north. The Cree community of Eastmain is also 131 km from the roadstop.
