Community Economic Development Investment Fund

The Société de développement de la Baie-James Investment Fund was created to support economic development in James Bay through investment in profitable, growth-generating business projects in the territory. Its purpose is to create jobs, increase investment, and promote new products and technologies in the region.

As a catalyst for the financing of projects throughout the James Bay territory, the Fund’s presence in the region enables it to supplement the offers of other local partners and financial institutions. The Fund is managed by a well-established team of professionals who work throughout the territory, continually striving to strike the right balance between profitability, financial risk and impact on the region’s economic growth, while promoting sustainable development.

NQ Investissement minier

With a view to better supporting and improving mining industry practices, the Société de développement de la Baie-James and the Administration régionale Baie-James joined forces in 2023 to launch NQ Investissement minier (NQIM), an investment fund specializing in the financing of mining companies in accordance with sustainable development principles in the Nord-du-Québec administrative region.
