Martin Breault, Vice-chairman of the Board

Martin Breault holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a certificate in Political Studies from Université de Sherbrooke, as well as a Master’s degree in International Relations from Université Laval. He has been Associate Deputy Minister for Governance and Response Coordination at the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts (MERN) since November 2022. From 2018 to 2023, he held the positions of Director General of Hydrocarbons and Biofuels, Director General of Strategic Mandates and Associate Deputy Minister for Regional Operations within the same department.

Between 1997 and 2002, Mr. Breault worked at the Department of National Defence in the successive roles of public affairs officer, advisor to the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations, parliamentary affairs officer and, finally, corporate communications planner. He joined the Québec public service in 2002 and became a manager at the Ministère des Relations internationales in 2007 as secretary of the department and officer responsible for federal-provincial relations. From 2011 to 2018, he worked at the Ministère des Transports, first as head of rail transport services, then as director general of ground transportation of persons, before joining the MERN.

On February 1, 2023, the Québec Cabinet appointed Mr. Martin Breault as a member and Vice-Chairman of the SDBJ Board of Directors.
